Our story

Black Rock Bakery is a veteran-owned cottage food bakery in Hampstead, Maryland. We began with a simple love of baking and the belief that good food has a way of bringing people together.

What started as making homemade sourdough for our own family quickly grew into sharing fresh bread, pastries, and seasonal treats with friends, neighbors, and our community. Every baked good is mixed, shaped, and baked by hand in small batches, allowing us to focus on quality instead of quantity.

As a family-run bakery, you'll often find our kids helping in the kitchen, taste-testing new recipes, or joining us at local markets. Baking has become more than a business, it's something we enjoy doing together.

We're passionate about using simple ingredients, traditional techniques, and taking the time to do things the right way. Whether you're picking up your weekly sourdough, trying one of our seasonal specialties, or stopping by to say hello at a market, we're grateful you've chosen to support our family.
